Cannon Mayes Jr

"Coach" Cannon has been playing sports all his life and coaching them since he was 16 years old. Many sports (swimming, soccer, basketball, volleyball, golf, football, and baseball) and many, many years (?) later he has found his FAVORITE Sport (PICKLEBALL). He has always had a passion for coaching sports that he enjoyed playing and then bringing that same joy to others, but he has never had a passion for playing a sport like he does Pickleball! After playing for a few months recreationally, he got "THE BUG" and began to take lessons and compete in tournaments. As his skills advanced, the "coaching gene" came out and he began introducing this beautiful sport to others culminating in multiple coaching certifications through IPTPA. Coach Cannon's accomplishments in Pickleball include: Multiple times, in multiple years he has been a medalist in the 50+ Olympic Games beginning in 2015 at the district and state levels for Singles, Mixed Doubles and Men's Doubles. Most recently (in 2023), he won 50+ Olympics Games' Gold in Singles as well as Silver in Men's doubles at the State level.
