Assumption of Risk & Waiver

By using VolleyForge to find, arrange, host, or join games, or by meeting other players in person, you agree to this Assumption of Risk & Waiver (the “Waiver”), in addition to our Terms of Service.

1. Voluntary participation

Your participation in any pickleball game, practice, meetup, league, or event connected to VolleyForge is entirely voluntary. You are free to decline or stop at any time, and you are responsible for your own decisions about where, when, and with whom you play.

2. Assumption of risk

Pickleball and other physical activities carry inherent risks — including, without limitation, falls, collisions, overexertion, contact with equipment or other people, court and weather conditions, and the risk of minor, serious, or catastrophic injury, illness, or death. Meeting other people you do not know also carries risk. You knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks, whether foreseen or unforeseen, that arise from your participation and from interacting with other users in person.

3. VolleyForge does not vet users or supervise play

VolleyForge is a platform that helps people connect. We do not screen, vet, perform background checks on, or verify the identity, character, fitness, or conduct of any user; we are not a party to any game, meetup, or arrangement between users; and we do not supervise activities or control any court, venue, or facility. You are solely responsible for evaluating the people you meet and the places you play.

4. Release & waiver of claims

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release, waive, and dischargeVolleyForge and its operators, officers, employees, and agents from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, damages, or causes of action of any kind — including those arising from ordinary negligence — that relate to personal injury, death, property damage, or other loss arising out of or connected with your participation in pickleball activities, your presence at any venue, or your interactions with other users, whether before, during, or after a game or meetup.

5. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless VolleyForge and its operators from any claim or demand brought by you or a third party arising out of your participation, your conduct, or your breach of this Waiver or the Terms.

6. Physical condition & medical fitness

You represent that you are physically able to participate and have no condition that would make participation unsafe. VolleyForge does not provide medical advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number. You are responsible for your own health, insurance, and safety.

7. Age & capacity

You must be 18 or olderto create a VolleyForge account and to arrange or attend games with other players. If a minor participates in a league or event in person — for example, as a player an organizer adds to a roster — a parent or legal guardian is responsible for reviewing and accepting this Waiver on the minor’s behalf and for the minor’s supervision and safety.

8. Safety reminders

• Meet in public places, especially the first time you play with someone new.
• Tell a friend or family member where you are going and when to expect you back.
• Trust your instincts — leave and stop if you feel unsafe, and report concerning behavior in the app.
• In an emergency, contact local authorities.

9. General

This Waiver is intended to be as broad as the law allows. If any part of it is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. This Waiver is governed by the laws of the State of Kansas and is subject to the dispute-resolution terms in our Terms of Service.
