This policy applies to the VolleyForge website and platform (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. It should be read together with our Terms of Service and Cookie Policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide. This includes:

• account and profile details — your name, email address, password, and optional profile information such as skill or DUPR rating, city, and photo;
• league and gameplay data you create — leagues, teams, rosters, schedules, matches, and scores;
• your date of birth and a record of the policies you accepted, if you use age-restricted features such as in-person matchmaking (which requires you to be 18+);
• your phone number, if you choose to verify it as a trust signal — a verified number is not shown to other players unless you share it;
• location you provide (such as your city or an approximate area) to find nearby games and courts — your precise location is never broadcast to other players;
• messages you send other players through in-app chat, reports you file, and messages you send us for support.

Information collected automatically.When you use the Service we collect standard technical and usage data — such as device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, and actions taken — through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies, analytics & advertising” below).

Information from third parties. If you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google), we receive basic profile information from that provider as permitted by your settings with them.

2. How we use your information

• to provide and operate the Service — accounts, profiles, leagues, standings, and score submission;
• to communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests;
• to personalize your experience and to measure, maintain, and improve the Service;
• to market the Service, including through advertising and measuring how our ads perform;
• to keep the Service safe — to prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms, and protect users;
• to comply with legal obligations.

Where the law requires a legal basis (for example, in the EEA/UK), we rely on your consent, the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving the Service, and compliance with our legal obligations.

3. Cookies, analytics & advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to run the Service, remember your preferences, and understand usage. We use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used, and the Meta (Facebook) Pixelto measure the performance of our advertising and to reach people who may be interested in VolleyForge. These providers may set their own cookies and receive certain usage data. 4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• with service providers that help us run the Service (such as hosting, email, analytics, advertising, and payment providers), under contracts that limit their use of it;
• with other users, for content you make visible within a league — such as team names and match results — which may appear on public standings pages;
• when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or VolleyForge;
• in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you of any change to how your information is handled.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal, safety, and fraud-prevention obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it.

6. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keep your password confidential and let us know if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. Your rights & choices

You can access, update, or delete your profile information at any time from your account, and you can opt out of non-essential email. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent (for example, under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA). We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising in a way that would require an opt-out beyond the ad controls described above. 8. Children’s privacy

The Service is intended for adults: you must be 18 or older to create an account, and the Service is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

We operate the Service from the United States. If you use it from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
